Despite a press shot that looks like
three guys woke up after one hell of a session on the couch and can’t work out
why they’re on scrub land outside of Reading, Arliston are actually a deeply
impressive band. The trio’s new single ‘Loud’ opens with some dreamy, gentle
vocals that drift up from the early morning corners of the basement studio that
Arliston operate out of. As the beat joins in and the melodies start to unfurl,
you can’t ignore the sophistication of this track that would fit in alongside
Everything Everything, Alt-J and Delphic in terms of it being edgy pop with a razor-sharp
style. Arliston may need to jump the barriers to get the train home but when
they get there you can expect the create pristine alt-pop.
