FERRIS & SYLVESTER – SINGLE REVIEW

Ferris & Sylvester – Flying Visit
Ferris & Sylvester - Flying Visit

Release Date: Out Now

I think my race is nearly run with Ferris & Sylvester but please don’t take that in a negative sense. There is something so wonderful about watching a band or artist grow and supporting them on that journey but, at some point, if you love someone then you have to set them free for the rest of the world to enjoy and I think this dynamic duo has reached the freedom stage. Nevertheless, I am compelled to share their latest single, ‘Flying Visit’, with you because it is simply just a gorgeous track that shows the pair’s evolution of to a tee. “I’ve gotta tell you something, bend down, come close, I love you” they sing as the opening lyric and they just ooze class with their soul-folk fusion and those trademark vocal harmonies. “If you’re gonna stay then you bring your suitcase and you make it 10 days cos I hate these flying visits” goes the infectious chorus atop a shuffling beat and some sliding guitar melodies. This is heartbreak, this is love and more than anything this is soul (with a bit of folk, some country and a smidge of indie). Now, go on, be free you two. There are bigger things awaiting you but I’ve got to find the pretenders to your thrown – the race never stops.
