So, I’m told this might just be a
world exclusive from new Birmingham band Wolf Orchestra as the band is not
officially ‘launched’ and this is their debut single. As first singles go, ‘Valencia’,
is an absolute beast getting underway with a thudding, thumping beat and a funky
bass line bringing this one to life. Throw in some tightly strung guitars and
the kind of vocals you’d expect from the Madchester scene and you’ve got
yourself one hell of a calling card. The drums really win it for me though,
there’s such a primal energy coming out of that kit it’s impossible not to feel
drawn to the rhythm.
