SOPHIA DANAI – SINGLE REVIEW

Sophia Danai – Daughter
Sophia Danai - Daughter

Release Date: Out Now

This is one of those songs that should get heavy radio rotation for the message alone but the fact that it’s wrapped up in a great tune just makes this an even stronger case for success. Canadian songstress Sophia Danai is the artist behind new single ‘Daughter’ which starts with a slow, smoky sashay in to a dark club lit only by a spotlight but this is only lulling you in to a false sense of security. Before you know it, Dinai calls out the misogynist portion of society with the chorus lyric of “One day you gonna have a daughter and she gonna ask her father about those filthy names they call her and you’ll know you’re part of the problem”. All of this delivered with a cool, calm vocal floating above a chilled beat and some classy electro alt-pop. Play this to young girls, young boys and misguided parents. On repeat. Until they get it. And then play it one more time just coz it’s a great tune.

Live Dates:
