Hanne Leland hails from Norway and
has a strong line in elfin alt-pop with strong melodies. Leland’s new single ‘Ego
Talking’ starts off with what could be mistaken for a timid vocal and subdued
instrumentation before bursting in to an unashamedly pop chorus singing “Never mind,
it’s just my ego talking, I want you all to myself”. This is like Robyn
duetting with Skrillex on the kind of song that would clearly be the best on
Eurovision but wouldn’t actually win the vote because, y’know, politics.
