Silver-Baird leading the way, Canadian quartet Ghost Caravan are the kind of
band that demand your attention not through force but through sheer
inventiveness and originality. New single ‘Love me if You Dare’ has multiple
personalities as it blends the theatricality of Kate Bush, the eccentricity of
Mae Karthauser, the mass appeal of Tori Amos and then another secret ingredient
that I can’t quite place (similar to but not the same as KFC). Ghost Caravan
are the kind of band that you could enjoy in a standard gig environment, but I
think there would be even more joy to be derived from a show in the round with candles
and a sense of wonder.
