SHORT PEOPLE – SINGLE REVIEW

Short People – You Know I’m Weird
Short People - You Know I'm Weird

Release Date: Out Now

Brighton supergroup Short People are debuting with ‘You Know I’m Weird’ and it can only be considered an extremely strong start. Featuring members of the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Bad for Lazarus and the Hungry Mothers, Short People blend all of their previous incarnations to create a sound that is dramatic, theatrical and swaggering as the move from a moody opening to a melody that is camp and marvellous. “I just want you to be yourself while I dream of someone else” they sing atop a cheeky, winking and pirouetting melody that is part Queen, part Mika and a whole lotta of Scissor Sisters if they’d been British and listened to more Supergrass. Short People may well be a short lived project or this could be the start of something more long term but either way let’s just enjoy them while they’re here, eh?
