There’s a little birdsong at the
beginning of this track that instantly transports you to a warm, relaxed and
open space. The gently picked acoustic notes of ‘I’ll Be Yours’ then join in
with warmth and sorrow in equal measure as Second Hand Poet hits his uncertain
stride. Swelling strings and vocals dripping in pathos and honest complete the
tapestry and it’s hard not to just close your eyes and drift away. If you’re a
fan of the likes of Avert Francis, Matthew Gordon Price and Noah Gundersen then
this will be right up your street – or tumbledown alley way leading to a hidden
and sun dappled court yard, to be more precise.
