There is a dreamy quality to the
new single from off-kilter duo Astralingua and it’s just sublime. ‘Space Blues’
isn’t particularly bluesy but it does have a weightless, gravity-defying quality
that is created from sparse acoustic notes, rich vocal harmonies and a bit of
woodwind all intermingling beautifully. Astralingua are the kind of band that
create a sense of calm around them not through writing songs but by landscaping
vistas made of sound and moods. It’s a rich tapestry and one that we get to
wrap around us which is a privilege.
