If you’re not up to speed with
the angriest supergroup in the world yet then you better get yourself educated,
and fast. Prophets Of Rage start new single ‘The Ballot or the Bullet’ with
some spoken word from Malcolm X (the originator of the title) before clicking
in to some suitably abrasive drums and guitar ‘sounds’ as only Tom Morello can
do. Lyrically, it won’t surprise you to find these guys in angry form taking on
the US presidency, gun controls and the rise of fascism in America with zeal.
As a track, it comes across as a mash up of ideas but when you listen to the
words and watch the arresting visuals then it all ties together and makes
perfect sense. Perfectly timed to coincide with the Mid-Term elections in the
US, it is time for to share this heavily and make sure there are no sleeping
voters out there. Crank it up….loud.
