ORCHARDS – SINGLE REVIEW

Orchards – Age Of You
Orchards - Age Of You

Release Date: Out Now

Ooh, this is a bit of a treat. I was just about to quit for the day but then this peach from Brighton band Orchards popped up and deserved instant sharing. Despite looking like the third picture that comes up if you Google ‘Hipsters’, Orchards have a great command over the indie-pop genre and new single ‘Age Of You’ transcends mere appearance. The guitars zip and bounce with an intense freshness while the vocals of Lucy Evers expertly walk the line between pop and rock much like peers Hypophora. Special mention should go to the percussion on this track which infuses proceedings with a real energy and sense of optimism that is in short supply these days. Seriously though, lose the mustard beret. Nobody benefits from that.
