GOOD DAYS – SINGLE REVIEW

Good Days – Yellow
Good Days - Yellow

Release Date: Out Now

The New York duo of Michael Cannova and Eric Ronick go by the name Good Days and are bringing new single ‘Yellow’ to the table which, thankfully, is not a cover of the over-played Coldplay smash. No, instead this is a breezy, summery indie-pop track with a sense of 80s cool about it and the kind of uplifting chorus that would work in a film montage when the downtrodden hero decides to start fighting back (presumably by pumping iron or giving up on trying to be someone else). The rolling bass line reminds me of Lemon Jelly or Bent while the melodies have a Simple Minds meets Delphic vibe about them. The piano breakdown in the middle goes along the lines of Mika guesting with the Beach Boys and gives the song yet another dimension in this beautifully kaleidoscopic haze.
