ARCHIE FAULKS – SINGLE REVIEW

Archie Faulks – Blackout
Archie Faulks - Blackout

Release Date: Out Now

A song of this raw and swelling emotion is a rare and beautiful thing in its own right but to come from a young man with such a stunning voice makes this a collector’s item. London based Archie Faulks may look and sound like a Victorian ne’er-do-well but new single ‘Blackout’ shows his tender and vulnerable side from the very beginning with immediate opening line “I’d like to be wherever you are, I hate this distance” signposting the heartache. Some gentle and subtle musicianship does its job of swelling the emotion without detracting from the cracked beauty of Faulks’ voice. This could go in the Morrison or Nutini direction for sure but there’s still time to dodge the ‘housewives favourite’ slice of the Venn diagram.
