There’s definitely something re-emerging in Brighton in terms of a scene with some distinctly talented artists bubbling up to the surface. White Room are the latest outfit to come my way and new single ‘Shoot’ is a gorgeous slice of refreshing water melon infused with popping candy. The angular, art-pop energy of Talking Heads and Sparks is met with the odd-ball styles of the B52s and spun through David Lynch’s personal kaleidoscope to create a gloriously chaotic but still elegant experience. Essentially, this is the musical equivalent of a drag queen tripping over the final step on entering the room but styling out the stumble and ending up sprawled across your lap ready for you to light the cigarette protruding from the diamante encrusted holder.
