SIT DOWN – SINGLE REVIEW

Sit Down – Mothership
Sit Down - Mothership

Release Date: Out Now

Brighton’s Sit Down are following in the tried and tested path of hard hitting duos with not an inch of fat on these lean bones. New single ‘Mothership’ takes that blueprint and, well, they’ve basically stapled it to the ass of a really pissed of bull before painting its eyes with red paint. The riffage of Greg Burns is distorted, monolithic and omnipotent so don’t even think of making eye contact with it, just keep staring at the floor and keep your hands where they can be seen. Then throw in the Viking-esque drums of Katie Oldham that are tempered only by her bitter-sweet vocals that sound like a warm laser cutting through a slab of granite with little or no resistance. Essentially, what I’m saying is that this track is huge, powerful and possibly made out of a substance that is not of this earth. Get some, it’s good for what ails you.
