THE SOFT SEASON – SINGLE REVIEW

The Soft Season – One Hour
The Soft Season - One Hour

Release Date: Out Now

Tracks that are introduced as having ‘80s vibes’ are usually ones that I file under ‘perky pop’ but not this one. No, Toronto based duo The Soft Season have been drawing from the section of the 80s compilation reserved for the likes of Tears for Fears, Peter Gabriel and Howard Jones. ‘One Hour’ is moody, dark and primed for an 80s reboot (I’m thinking Airwolf, has anybody done Airwolf yet?) but also fits in alongside the likes of Delphic or Everything Everything in the modern era. Layer upon layer of swirling synth melodies mix in with some seriously powerhouse drums to create a dramatic backdrop for the vocals to play out in front of with a grey leather jacket a hint of mascara.
