PATAWAWA – SINGLE REVIEW

Patawawa – Fight Me (Splinter Records)
Patawawa - Fight Me

Release Date: Out Now

I’m running out of superlatives for Matlock trio Patawawa but I can talk about their consistency if you’re after a new angle. ‘Fight Me’ is the latest release by the band on Splinter Records and it is pure disco delight with a funky undulating bass line and a string section that has hot Paris nights burning in its soul. Throw in the soulful vocals of Beth Garrett and you’ve got a summer party tune ready made but that’s nothing new for Patawawa. It’s the consistency with which Beth, Sam and Rory put together these hugely enjoyable and infectious tunes that make me question – and not for the first time – why aren’t these guys huge and being invited to every festival, pool party and general celebration. Seriously, if you’ve got a slot free at something and you need someone to bring the party then book Patawawa. I’m not kidding….do it now.
