MYSTERON – SINGLE REVIEW

Mysteron – Me Me Moi
Mysteron - Me Me Moi

Release Date: 7th July 2018

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Sheffield? Well I do, it will always have a special place in my heart and its music always connects. And always seems to involve at least one member of Pulp. In the case of Mysteron it’s Russell Senior not that it matters – new single ‘Me Me Moi’ is beautiful regardless of the clientele. The 60s style spy video sets the tone for a song that’s full of charm and swagger from the incessant keys and unrelenting indie drums through to the lip-curled drawl of a deadpan vocal delivery that is Mark E Smith meets Jon Spencer from the word go. Call it Garage, call it post-punk, call it indie-pop, call it whatever you want but just don’t ask it for a selfie or a follow on Instagram. This is blistering and stylish fun, I’d expect nothing less from the Steel City.
