THE DIRTY NIL – SINGLE REVIEW

The Dirty Nil – Bathed in Light
The Dirty Nil - Bathed in Light

Release Date: Out Now

The latest release from excellent Canadians the Dirty Nil genuinely made me jump the first time I heard it. Now, part of that was because I had the volume settings waaaaay too high for wearing headphones but the other part was due to the sheer force with which ‘Bathed in Light’ kicks in. The guitars and drums jump in through your living room window like clumsy, drunk cops who are raiding the wrong house set to a theme tune of 70s guitars and the kind of rehearsal ethic that Trump applies to making speeches to children. There’s a raw energy and a constant flirtation with falling apart but also the kind of joyousness that early Nirvana, Presidents of the United States of America and Metal Molly have in their assaults on the senses. This bodes well for the new album. It bodes very well indeed.
