STEREOTYDE – SINGLE REVIEW

Stereotyde – Higher We Fall
Stereotyde - Higher We Fall

Release Date: Out Now

I really don’t know what I expected when I received this debut release from North London lads Jack and Ben, aka Stereotyde (excellent name, btw), but it certainly wasn’t this. ‘Higher We Fall’ is so chilled out it’s almost horizontal as it fuses South of France cool with Rio beach vibes and Jazz inspirations to pre-club beats. There aren’t really any vocals and if there were you’d be talking about bands like Morcheeba, Zero 7 and Elevator Suite but as it is this has the potential to either be the best hold music you’ve ever heard or the soundtrack to a lazy Sunday BBQ with the Pimms and Gin flowing. The layers of soft, shuffling beats, cool guitars and sprinkling of harmonies, horns and other instrumentation make this a gentle delight.
