The Pop world is in evolution and revolution at the moment and the women of that world are definitely in the driving seat when it comes to breaking down boundaries and spinning preconceptions on their head. Madison Beer is the perfect example as a person who might, on appearances alone, be dismissed as a Selena Gomez-alike with nothing to other but then the music starts and the blend of street rhythms, pop vocals and skater attitude chimes perfectly in the #metoo era. This song might be called ‘Home With You’ but this isn’t a soppy love song about Netflix and Chilling with your boo, no way. Beer sings “You do what you wanna wanna do, I’m not going home with you, home with you” and if you don’t leave her alone after that then you’ve got your own issues to deal with. On the scale of strong women in pop, I’d put this firmly between Rihanna and Angie but I’m saying which way up that scale is running.
