Yaaaaaaaaawn, yet more amazing music from Canada, how very predictable. Angelica Poversky is a Vancouver base artist who identifies as a poet but as this is set to music I can legitimately review it which is good news for everyone. ‘The Entropy of Forgiveness’ may sound heavy but the beauty of this track is it’s lightness and purifying nature that I can’t urge you more strongly to push in to your ear holes. Poversky’s laconic Canadian tones are relaxing and reminiscent of the Rickie Lee Jones sample on the Orb’s ‘Little Fluffy Clouds’ which is never a bad thing. Mix in a sense of Baz Luhrmann’s life affirming ‘Sunscreen’ and tonnes of quotable slices of wisdom like “It is OK to be a fat version of a Photoshopped picture” and you’ve got yourself a slice of reassurance. And who doesn’t need that from time to time? I know I do.
