When the PR coming out with a new
track describes it as ‘epic’, I am tempted to hear it as just hyperbole which
are all too prone to these days. However, in the case of the new release by
Solomon’s Seal, ‘O, My God’, the near eight minute track is something of an
epic tune. The gentle, almost sleepy acoustic tones and mumbled vocals open
proceedings as our boat drifts away from shore in the first blinkings of
daylight, never to return home again. The gentle odyssey that we then go on,
winding down this waterway is both cleansing and freeing in the time it takes
and the purity you are left feeling. This is subtle and shifting stuff but it
might just do you good to take the time out for this one.
