I’m really excited by Perth lads
Parliamo and this is only their second single. ‘Lucy’ picks up where they left
off with their last release in terms of sunshine infused indie-pop with lighter-than-air
melodies and the kind of urgency that only teenagers making their first marks
on the music world have. There are obvious parallels with the View, a little bit
of Paolo Nutini’s first album, the Libertines and Supernatural but the
overlapping vocal harmonies and driving drums really set this apart. Also, how
many music videos finish with a close up of a guy in Burberry trousers holding
a can of Kronenbourg and a fidget spinner? One, that’s how many. Keep it coming
lads, big things are coming.
