SISTERAY – SINGLE REVIEW

Sisteray – Algorithm Prison (Vallance Records)

Sisteray - Algorithm Prison
Release Date: Out Now

For those that haven’t yet got some Sisteray in their lives, this is your last chance before you have to consider yourselves ‘behind the curve’. The London four-piece are doing everything in their power to convince me that they’re one of the most vital bands around and new single, ‘Algorithm Prison’, does nothing to slow that momentum. Opening in a squall of guitars, this one soon settles in to a furious pace with a sneering, snarling vocal that is somewhere between Joe Strummer and Johnny Rotten. The difference is that this indie-punk is riling against social media, photoshop alterations and a consumerist society that is in danger of buying and then eating itself. A little rough around the edges as the Libertines did and Sleaford Mods do, but that’s as it should be. If you clean this kind of music up too much or think about it too long, then it becomes sanitised and packaged which softens the blow considerably. Like I said, get on board now and fight the good fight alongside Sisteray.
