BAILEY – SINGLE REVIEW

Bailey – The Future
Bailey - The Future

Release Date: Out Now

Shoreditch based Joe Bailey (or just Bailey if we’re getting artsy about it) is the second artist I’ve come across recently who is operating out of ‘trendy’ East London but, weirdly, hasn’t become a hipster parody of himself. Odd. New single ‘The Future’ is a perfectly joyous and uplifting slice of folk-pop with an easy, breezy acoustic strum with a sprinkle of summer and a dollop of optimism. If I didn’t know better I’d think this had been written to be used in an advert for Gala Bingo or Bulmers or something craving the disposable income of those in their early 20s and when the whistling kicks in it’s all I can do to resist reaching for my straw hat and Ray Bans. Very English, very perky and very likely to get picked up for some serious rotation if this bloody summer ever arrives.
