I think we can all stop referring
to XamVolo as promising, a hot prospect or one to watch. By the time his current
support tour with Paloma Faith is over, the London nu-Jazz supremo should be
easing in to fifth gear, career wise. This latest offering, ‘Lose Love’, has a
chilled out beat that’s all West Coast Hip-Hop but with a lounge guitar riff
and then XamVolo’s chocolatey smooth vocal. The music is so accomplished,
seemingly effortless and just, well, cool that it’s hard not to fall in love
and damn near impossible to stop your shoulders moving in team with that beat. It’s
been great following the rise and rise of XamVolo but I think it’s time for him
to fly the coop now, on to bigger, better and brighter things. Don’t forget to write
from time to time….
