Patawawa have only gone and teamed up with French Horn Rebellion to create a
song that is ready to get summer underway as soon as the weather can be bothered
to turn up. ‘Mr Romantic’ is full of bouncy alt-pop beats and perky guitars
that beg you to punch a beach ball around in a city park wearing an unbuttoned Hawaiian
shirt and a straw hat. This is disco infused with sunshine and the kind of fun
that you have with a group of mates, a small budget and no real end game. There’s
a satisfying snap to the bassline and the kind of vocals that are so carefree
they would probably turn up late to the party but they’d get the biggest cheers
because of the keg under the arm and big bag of shmokes. Get this one in your
play list and then just wait for the sunshine…..it’s coming.
