Danish outfit Malmo (I know) are dropping
new single ‘We Come from the Stars’ ahead of their forthcoming album due out in
May. Musically, we’re in woozy First Aid Kit territory as the gently stabbing
guitar notes punctuate the steel guitar slides and the near-whispered vocals
rouse you gently from a slumber that has left you fully rested. The beat is
like a Dubstar or Bentley Rhythm Ace flow while rest of the song meanders with
the kind of peace and serenity you would expect from song concerned with celestial
matters. Laid back, gentle and heavenly with a sense of optimism – perfect attributes
for a song and good qualities to live by, in my book.
