MADISEN WARD & THE MAMA BEAR – SINGLE REVIEW

Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear – Childhood Goodbye

Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear - Childhood Goodbye

Release Date: Out Now

If you’re going to write and record a song with your mother, then you’d better make sure it’s bad ass and if you’re not sure how that sounds then listen up; Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear are here to learn you and learn you good. ‘Childhood Goodbye’ combines a Native American stomp with folksy roots a Simon & Garfunkel structures over the top of a primal stomp. The passion and energy of this song alone with it’s raw acoustic strum and the richly unique voice of Madisen Ward would be enough to stand those neck hairs up. But then there’s the lyrical content which speaks of the end of an era, the end of the good times being sung with a posse (including Mama Bear) and I’m entirely sold. This is powerful, emotive stuff so save it for a moment when you’re feeling strong enough to cope with it rather than a fragile time. Bravo Madisen Ward, bravo Mama Bear.
