THE NECTARS – SINGLE REVIEW

The Nectars – I Want It (7Hz Recordings)

The Nectars - I Want It

Release Date: Out Now

I’m expecting big things from New York bunch The Nectars and have been since I first heard them so was excited to see this new release arrive in my inbox. ‘I Want It’ is such a simple, urgent, primal and instinctive song that it’s impossible not to fall in love with it. Scratch that, this is nothing to do with love, this is pure, unadulterated lust. The guitars grind, the drums thrust and the vocals snake around you before pulling you in close, so you can feel every word on your lips. At under 2 minutes there is a punk vibe but we’re talking New York punk with the swagger of early Pretenders, the cool of Blondie, the angularity of Pixies and the raw sexual energy of Veruca Salt. If you don’t get excited by this then I’d seriously question your place on this planet and whether you’re just taking up space and air that could be better used.

Live Dates:

9th March – BoonTunes, Boonton w/Jack Names the Planets
17th March – Gutter Bar, New York w/The Shining Hours

28th April – Dingbatz, Clifton w/Blind Revision + Deadly Nights + Lunatic Fringe
