Seattle agit-poppers Powerbleeder
have a warning for you, ‘Donnie Wants You Dead’, capiche? The new single gets
straight down to business before settling in to a slightly unnerving, Weezer
inspired slice of indie-grunge with more than a hint of Silversun and Redd Kross
about it as the structure is thrown out of the window in favour of off-the-wall
lyrics, jazz infused rhythm section duels and 50s vocal harmonies. Throw in a bit
of Metal Molly, dEUS, Vampire Weekend and Hot Hot Heat for good measure and not
only have you got yourself a party but you’ve also just been handed a bottle of
moonshine with a cocktail umbrella sticking out of the top. Party on Wayne,
