Londoner Hollie Haines describes
herself as alt-folk but on the evidence of new single ‘Keep Moving On’ I think
this is just straight up folk with a touch of country and a smidge of indie-pop.
Whatever pigeon hole you choose for this one, make sure it’s big enough to cope
with the perkiness of the vocals and infectious bounce of the rhythm as this
one rattles along like the perfect travelling song for that journey when you’re
on your way away from something rather than to anything. Haines’ voice is sweet
and pure but with the kind of honesty and charm you normally get from the likes
of Laura Marling and the Indigo Girls. Fill the car up, pack some supplies and
get this on the stereo it’s time to get gone.
