Kicking off 2018 in style was
always the plan but I never expected this much style. London art-noise-pop
exponents Tayne hit you with a solid wall of shuddering, sticky electro vibes
and a deep, brooding beat on new single ‘Sacrifice’ and it’s the perfect way to
rouse yourself from the festive slumber. This occupies the space between New
Order and Joy Division with half an eye on what Fischer Spooner is doing and a
nod to the atmospherics of ‘Boss Drum’ era Shamen with bigger beats. This is
intense, claustrophobic, unstoppable and infectious stuff that you should all
put in your gym playlist before going nuts on a treadmill. (Disclaimer: don’t
actually do this, I am in no way a fitness instructor).
