2018 is really starting to kick
in now with some superb new music worming its way in to my ears, through my
brain and down to my fingers so I can let you know about it. Take Knightstown,
for instance. A one man show (Michael Aston to the tax man), Knightstown brings
you ‘Charlatan’ which is somewhere between a choral piece and trance which is unremittingly
sublime. If you want to pigeon hole this then stick it somewhere between Alt-J
and Everything Everything but the beauty here transcends that kind of
description. Rushing and mingling electronic melodies are kept in check by
gorgeous falsetto vocals and a sense of something greater, something higher
going on around you. Perfect for the end of the week – post-work and pre-night
out.
