HYPNOSISTER – SINGLE REVIEW

Hypnosister – Ghost (Sleep All Day Music)
Hypnosister - Ghost

Release Date: Out Now

Leeds kook Hypnosister (aka Damian Hughes) with more of his wigged-out psyche indie and judging by ‘Ghost’, he’s been sleep deprived for a while now. Initially, there’s a perky, sugary K-pop vibe behind the guitars but soon this settles in to an almost whispered shoegaze pattern before the singalong chorus of “Ooh, there is a ghost in this house” gets belted out atop some chunky guitars and driving drums, all slathered in organ. Running through this song like words through a stick of rock, however, is the sense of paranoia and twitchiness that comes from staying up too late on your own in an old house. I know it because I’ve been there, and no amount of Kazoo solos can get rid of that overwhelming and irrational fear. That said, this is a lot of fun and primed for some serious pogoing on the forthcoming tour. Oh, and it’s a free download so click the link below and get some of this in your life.
