Reykjavik is a bit of a byword
for cool at the moment and it doesn’t get much cooler than trio Fufanu so this
is worth your attention. New single ‘Tokyo’ feels a little downbeat and
morose but the jangle of guitars and persistent beat soon worms under your skin
along with the Air-esque vocals. This is Shoegaze mixed with a bit of LCD
Soundsystem and some Gary Numan meets New Order but with a more European twist.
There’s a bleak, almost confessional video and things get a little electro-woozy
towards the end but all-in-all things stay on the balance beam of cool without
so much as a wobble or a flinch.
