If you like light, airy French
disco-pop that reminds you of the clubs around the turn of the millennium then
you really need to check out this new track from Canadian duo Anzu. Known as
Simon Belanger and Jess Silkie by their parents (I think Belanger and Silkie
would have made a great name, just saying), Anzu bring us ‘(When I Was) Loving
You’ for our listening and dancing pleasure. Steady, late-90s dance beats,
sampled vocals and melodies that make you want to shuffle around the kitchen
like you would to Modjo or Grooverider are always welcome in my house as are
the Chic inspired guitar flicks so it’s all good in the hood with Anzu.
