If you close your eyes and
picture an early 80s Top of the Pops TV set you can totally imagine this new
single from Brighton indie-poppers being performed by a bunch of dead-eyed 80s
popsters with physics defying hair. The wonky bass notes and clipped beats of ‘Tell
Each Other Lies’ work perfectly with the Claire Grogan vocals and jangled,
Cure-esque guitars to create a real tour-de-force. Think Cocteau Twins mixed
with a little bit of Long Blondes and the cool of St Etienne but all wrapped up
in a flurry of wripped stonewash denim and other man-made fibres. A delight.
