Scots Broken Records may just have given us the last big
treat of the year with this single the pre-empts a new album due out in 2018. ‘They
Won’t Ever Leave Us Alone’ fuses the bombast of Arcade Fire, the drive of
Deacon Blue and the clenched-fist honesty of the Boss to make an absolute
stormer of a tune that Frank Turner would sell his right arm for if it was for
sale. Chiming pianos, smooth organs and a 100mph rhythm section give the power
that the guitars need to shine while front-man Jamie Sutherland’s roaring vocal
is lifted on the wings of a choir that is euphoric as it is rough around the
