Despite starting like the warm up
notes of a church organ, it’s not long before this tune goes about kicking in
to a real romper-stomper of an indie tune with a theatrical edge and a
genuinely catchy melody. London based collective BOKITO combine the vocal style
of Everything Everything (albeit in a lower register) with the theatrics of
Tankus the Henge and the intricate melodic structures of Dutch Uncles. As
debuts go, this is incredibly strong and I can only imagine this would come
with a lively, whirling live performance so I think you can safely put BOKITO
on your ‘ones to check out in 2017’ list without any fear of regretting that
