QUIGLEY – SINGLE REVIEW

Quigley – Watch With You
Quigley - Watch With You

Release Date: Out Now

I don’t know an awful lot about Quigley, they’re one of those bands that believe that less is more when it comes to sharing information. What I do know, however, is that their latest single, ‘Watch With You’, is one of those rare songs that messes with your preconceptions from the word go and that’s always a good thing. The song starts out like a mournful, nostalgic Ludovico Einaudi piece especially written for the sad but heart-warming end of a lo-fi American film (probably starring Michael Cera). Soon enough, however, this tune bursts in to life with epic, star spangled energy and the kind of vibe that should have stadiums of adoring fans singing the words back at this talented bunch. This song speaks of loss, mourning and the idea of meeting up with loved ones again in a future that is not of this world. Quigley transcend bog-standard with this single by tugging on the heartstrings with just the right amount of torque and then soothing your heartache with beautiful music. Nice trick but Quigley is still a pretty awful name.
