Chester bunch Idle Frets look
like the kind of people you suggest should be in a band together if they weren’t
already in one and that’s always a good start, isn’t it? The band’s latest
single, ‘Glow’, feels like it should be heard coming out of a dark bar in the
middle of the LA sunshine rather than a Chester pub but that’s no bad thing.
The jerky rhythms, unpredictable melodies, gravelly vocals and uplifting vibe
all mingle to create the kind of indie pop sound that would get beach parties
bouncing whilst retaining some integrity with its inventiveness and
originality. This is the kind of song you have to press play on again as soon
as its finished just to make sure you’ve heard what you think you’ve heard.
Bravo, bravo indeed.
