Some big names have been paying
attention to the talented Elena Roxy Rose and it's not just because her tongue
is frozen to her saxophone. New single 'Message In A Bottle' which is not a
cover of the Police classic but is instead a quirky piece of sax lead electro
pop that the likes of Paloma Faith and Parov Stelar would proud to have on
their albums. ERR's dramatically accented vocals are a delight and the upbeat
poppy chorus creates an image of 'Babushka' era Kate Bush having a bash at a
Yazz song with Regina Spektor on production and artistic direction duties. This
won't be to everyone's taste and it took me a couple of listens to get my head
around what Elena Roxy Rose is doing here but that only makes me more
intrigued. After all, art is always better when it challenges us, right?
