City electropop songstress, Victory Jones, is here and she means business. New single 'Warriors' starts with a spoken
word piece of inspiration before the sultry beats and soulful vocals take over.
Jones' vocal style is somewhere between rap and soul with traces of Rhianna,
Ellie Goulding and Neneh Cherry all coming to the fore but there is a defiant
almost political edge which is more akin
to MIA. Victory Jones is a fierce and determined competitor and
performer who is the very definition of an iron fist in a velvet glove which is
just what the music world needs right now. I mean, let's face it, Beyonce still
has the glove but the fist is limp.
