Les Carter, him of the
unstoppable sex machine fame, has found a new niche in folk-punk band Ferocious
Dog and boy oh boy do these guys like to gig. This new single, 'Ruby Bridges',
is coming out ahead of a string of live dates the length, breadth and depth of
the country taking in festivals, pubs and venues for the pleasure of punters
old and young. The single itself opens as a gently rolling acoustic melody with
a rough'n'ready vocal straight from the docks of East London via Dublin. And
then all hell breaks loose with fiddles, drums, guitars and rabble rousing
vocal performances that lift the spirits. For fans of the Levellers and tour
mates Mad Dog Mcrae for sure but there's an energy, pace and passion about this
song that is infectious on a recording but I can only imagine that their live
shows are as ferocious to say the least and I plan to find out this summer....
