Without even hearing a note of
this Mancunian trio I have a strong suspicion that I'm going to like them quite
a lot and my gut reactions are usually pretty spot on when it comes to music so
I'm putting my reputation on the line here. The band's new single, 'Moon Is On
Yer Side', centres around the glorious interplay between the guitar of Julian
Neville and the organ of Thomas Scotson all driven along by the sticksmanship
of Rich Watts. And yes, I do love it. There's a sexy, sultry, 60s vibe going on
here that makes you want to don a corduroy suit and enter an exclusive Soho
club via a pair of heavy velvet curtains. These guys know how to make their
instruments sing and work beautifully together to create a sound that is
wonderfully authentic but equally fresh. There's more to come but this is a
great place to start.
