It's not often you come across a
Los Angeles pop starlet who has a song that was nominated for Best Song in a
Documentary. Nevertheless, that is what we have on our hands with Dalal and her
new single 'Superman' and, by all accounts, it's a bit of a girl-power anthem.
The track kicks off with a stomping, pounding beat before Dalal's vocal comes
in like a voice from beyond the realms of the earthly. There's a bit of Britney
Spears about Dalal but with way more class and glamour as that relentless beat
keeps pounding away and her vocals spiral, twist and fly off in to the LA
night. Oddly, the video sees our pop heroine cavorting with a cameraman in the
toilets of a posh hotel whilst wearing some improbable 70s disco gear but, hey,
if you're Superman then who cares what you get up to in your spare time, right?
Christopher Reeve sure does look different these days though...
