THE LITTLE SECRETS - SINGLE REVIEW

The Little Secrets - All I Need (The Label Recordings)
The Little Secrets - All I Need

Release Date: 26th January 2015

If I told you that Liverpool's The Little Secrets comprised of  a bloke called Kev and a girl named Stacy-Jo you could be forgiven for expecting this debut single to be a 90s dance nightmare with some over-repeated lyrics about 'getting on it' and 'finding the vibe'. Instead, 'All I Need' is actually a delightfully poppy and jangly indie number full of Motown beats and English forlornness. Stacy-Jo's voice fits in to the classic English Indie-pop oeuvre and you wouldn't be disappointed to find these guys opening for Belle & Sebastian, Teenage Fanclub, The Las or The Magic Numbers. Throw in the fact that the musicianship is superb - choppy guitars over the top of more sustained notes, perky drums and a rolling bassline - and you'll soon be dancing all the way to the bus stop with a song in your heart and the promise of love on the tip of your heart. My first new love of 2015.
