I love a song with a story or a
message and this one has both in spades. Ontario resident Tamara Williamson
brings us new single 'Victoria' which was inspired by the story of a woman
discovering that she had been raised by her childhood abductors. The tune
itself is a moody, atmospheric number in the ballpark of Anna Calvi, PJ Harvey
and Beth Orton with an ominous thudding beat underpinning some meandering
melodies. This is beautiful, haunting music with layers that reveal themselves
to you more and more with every listen which is a rare thing to be treasured in
music these days. A rare thing indeed.
